yellow crowned nght heron batiquitos lagoon july 25 730 am

I spotted an adult Yellow-crowned Night-Heron this morning about 75 yards west of the Nature center  and then across the lagoon near the freeway just south of the 5 freeway bridge.   Reviewing sdrb I see that sue smith et al had one July 7 at san dieguito lagoon along with a juvi     On the far side of the lagoon  there was another bird that was a candidate to be  juvi based mostly on size   my photo of that bird barely reveals it as a bird but perhaps the same two birds that Sue saw    I did get some photos of the adult before it flew to the far side and have them in my ebird report     good birding your way
