Thanks for your earlier post, Eve, and thank you Bob for spotting the wood thrush this morning. Just to add to sightings this morning, Elizabeth Copper and I also had a Pacific wren along the creek to the west of the Weir Trail/Doane Valley Nature Trail fork around 11:15 and at least 1 to 2 golden-crowned kinglets in nearby trees. At 10:20 we had a western tanager working the trees in the strip between the road and the Doane Pond parking lot.
At Lake Henshaw, there were over 100 white pelicans roosting on a spit on the NW central shore, and continuing Canada and white-fronted geese along the NE shore.
At least 2 ferruginous hawks continued along Rangeland Rd in Ramona, as did the 5 snow geese (including 1 blue) seen as they moved from the pond west of the road to join the Canada & white-fronted geese in the adjacent pasture.
