Virginia Rail at Water of the Woods

Mid-day Saturday July 11 there was a Virginia Rail in the reeds at the south end of Water of the Woods in the Laguna Mountains.  Small rail with rich reddish-brown plumage, gray face, and long slightly curved bill.  The small pond also had 8 juvenile American Coots.
