Varied Thrush at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery
Varied thrush observed at about 9:30 a.m.
Robin-sized bird, bold orange-yellow eyebrow, black eye stripe, orange chin, orange breast with black breast band, orange wing bars, and back rufous to gray.
It flew into a pine tree about 9:30 a.m., while the lawnmower brigade was on a break, but as soon as the lawnmower fired up again, it flew northward. Last seen in NE sector, west side in large pine tree just beyond the fence, uphill from the northern-most section of the loop road.
