Update: Laughing Gull reported this AM = Franklin’s Gull ; Batiquitos Navigator Circle 23 JUL 2023

After reviewing my photos from this morning and studying 2nd Year Franklin’s Gulls, I was starting to change my ID that I initially reported this morning from Laughing Gull to FRANKLIN’S GULL when I was contacted by Paul L. I then immediately knew I was on the right track. I was overly swayed by essentially all black primaries, which is common in 2nd year Franklin’s (as opposed to extent of black, which is difficult to see on standing bird). Also, the head pattern and straight bill are good ID features for FRANKLIN’S GULL. I apologize to listers who may already have FRGU.
