TRV 11-17-18

Trent Stanley & I birded several, locales in the TRV this morning.

At the Bird & Butterfly Garden the Ovenbird was seen in the east garden.
Also, one Townsend's Warbler, several RC Kinglets, several Hermit Thrushes and lots of Audubon's Warblers. The Solitaire was not seen.

At the sod farm we found a nice group of Mountian Bluebirds.  They were only seen in the south end near the river channel. As many as 10 birds. Mostly female types.

The main Dairy Mart pond held numerous Cinnamon Teal, several Green-winged Teal, one female-type Ring-necked Duck, Bufflehead, and other common quacks.

The middle pond is pretty much gone.  The irrigation of the nearby sod farm, relying on ground water, has likely exacerbated the effects of our drought. The stick pond is also showning signs of decline in water level. Ditto the main pond.

At the stick pond and  the dry south pond were a total of 24 Turkey Vultures.

At Tesoro Grove we quickly found the continuing American Redstart.  Nothing else of note.  At Nestor Park we found the female Vermilion Flycatcher, and an American Goldfinch.

Along the Silver Strand we caught a 60 mph glimpse of the of our Flamingo.
