Swainson’s Hawks and Turkey Vultures in Borrego Springs

A conservative count of 100 Swainson’s Hawks and over 50 Turkey Vultures are now roosting in the Roadrunner Club in Borrego Springs northeast side. This is extremely early for a migration north. Perhaps it is a late migration south! The wind will be very light, so migration will probably begin after 8am or much later tomorrow. The normal migration period usually begins in mid to late February. Global Climate Change? Best viewing is near the tennis court area north of the Roadrunner Club.
