Surfbirds on the Hotel Del Jetty

This afternoon, April 1st, 2022, around 2:30 there were at least 55 Surfbirds on the jetty in front of the Hotel Del despite the hordes of children climbing all over the rocks. Some of the Surfbirds are fairly well into breeding plumage, as are some of the Black Turnstones there. Not rare birds of course, but in good numbers. Perhaps there will be more in the early mornings feeding on the beach nearby as we have seen in past years. Dan Jehl San Diego
