Stilt Sandpiper at Tijuana River at Dairy Mart Road
I went to try and confirm the Lesser Yellowlegs that was reported yesterday from the muddy area just north of the Tijuana River model airplane field in San Ysidro. I caught a decent glimpse yesterday but wanted to be sure. I didn’t find it today but there is a Stilt Sandpiper associating with the numerous Greater Yellowlegs there. About half the size of a Greater Yellowlegs, with slightly green tinged legs and a downward curving bill, it was close to the pullout by the bridge.
