Solitary Sandpiper, Lakeside River Park, Friday morning

Early Friday morning August 14, 2020, I birded Lakeside River Park (may also be considered an eastern extension of Walker Preserve).  The best bird was a Solitary Sandpiper in a shallow puddle just east of a feature called "Isle Pond" on information signs along the trail.  The closest access for Isle Pond should be the parking lot and trailhead off of Channel Road immediately north of the San Diego River in Lakeside.  At about 1/2 a mile west of the Channel Road parking lot there is a wooden deck overlooking the pond on the south side of the trail.  The trail can also be accessed at the Lakeside Little League ball fields to the west; but the ball field trailhead is much farther from Isle Pond.
