Snow Geese at Dairy Mart Ponds

The four Snow Geese I first saw on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020, were back at the South Pond on Dairy Mart Rd. this afternoon (2/4/2020) at 2:15. The two adults and two first-year birds were best seen from just south of the Main Pond parking lot along the path paralleling Dairy Mart Rd. The birds were first seen flying in from the direction of the Sod Farms and may have been grazing on the grass there. As per eBird, Snow Geese are very rare in this part of the Tijuana River Valley (last reported in 1999).
