Semi-rarities at Fort Rosecrans at noon today (10/11) including a Blackpoll and Palm Warbler

I ran by Fort Rosecrans at 11:30 this morning 10/11 and stayed 45 minutes. Birding limited to “the dip”- West side along fence line. Immediately encountered a mixed flock of birds foraging on the grass. They gradually moved north along the fence line. Among the numerous Yellow-rumps and White-crowned & Chipping Sparrows were a single Palm Warbler ( reported by Thomas Ford-Hutchinson on 10/10) and a single Blackpoll Warbler. Also present were two Fox Sparrows and two Hermit Thrushes. Lousy photos submitted on my E-bird list.
