scattered miscellanea

12:20 pm

On Friday the 27th, a new Clay-colored Sparrow is in the western section of the TRV Community Garden, up to 3 long-staying Yellow-headed Blackbirds continue in the Sunset X Hollister area, a Vermilion Flycatcher continues at San Ysidro, and a Pacific Golden-Plover continues on “Stint Island” at high tide. To illustrate how poor a fall it has been for a number of western landbird migrants, I finally today saw my first Nashville Warbler of the season.
Yesterday, the 26th, there were 2 Gr. White-fronted Geese on Admiral Baker Golf Course, as viewed from Tierrasanta, where also a Costa’s Hummingbird.
