Santee Lakes rarities Common Loon DOA

This morning the cackling goose has moved to Lake 5. It is by the boat rental dock, frequently being harassed by a resident pair of Canada geese. The cattle egret continues on the north shore of Lake 1. The common loon was found dead this morning in the reeds of lake 4.
