San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Escondido – Wood Stork, 13-14 May 2020
PLEASE NOTE: SAN DIEGO ZOO SAFARI PARK IS CLOSED TO VISITORS AT THIS TIME.
We have a report in to eBird that yesterday, 13 May 2020, a WOOD STORK appeared at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park near Escondido. Eric Lutomski, a bird keeper at the park, first noted the stork at 3:30 PM. Eric says it moved around the park a bit to different ponds. The stork is still present this morning 14 May 2020 and photos can be seen on Eric's checklist here
https://ebird.org/checklist/S69029207
The bird has no bands or markings and we are told is not a part of the bird collection.
Eric will let me know if it remains at the park today or moves off. Something to keep an eye out for in the area!
