San Diego spring 2023 Pelagic Birding Trips

San Diego spring 2023 Pelagic Birding Trips
By {authorlink} – 9:36 am

I hope all of you are having a fun and productive spring migration.

This is just a reminder that Buena Vista Audubon is sponsoring three Birding Trips offshore this spring and early summer.
Sunday, May 7th.,
Saturday, June 3rd.
Saturday, July 15th.
All trips are aboard the comfortable 80ft. Legacy out of Seaforth Landing in Mission Bay.
Prices have held at $160, though fuel prices and other costs continue to increase.
Details for these trips and future trips are on www.sandiegopelagics.com.
**Please for the immediate future make your reservations by calling the Seaforth Landing at 619 224-3383 during business hours ( 7 a.m.- 5 p.m.). Note; the Legacy’s Whale Watch web site has had issues with booking the Birding trips. The whale watch trip bookings there work as normal.
San Diego has had some interesting birds offshore this winter and early spring ( a Tufted Puffin in Feb., a Parakeet Auklet in Mar., two Black-footed Albatross in Apr. ).We have had colder than normal sea surface temps locally. What does that bode for these trips?? Forecasts for the Eastern Pacific show a dramatic shift from La Nina ( colder ) to El Nino  ( warmer ), that on the equator. That adds to the mystery. I hope you’ll join us to be a witness. Maybe even add that species that you’ve missed last year.
