Sage Thrasher, Black-and-white Warbler

The Sage Thrasher on Crown Point continues on Monday the 14th. Early in the morning it was on the fence along the main entrance road (“Corona Oriente Road”) but soon thereafter it moved east to its usual area at the southeast corner of Kendall Frost. White-throated Sparrow continues in large White-crowned flock. Be aware that all of Crown Point Park (includes the dirt parking area at the ‘double gate’ where the thrasher likes) is now officially closed for the entire week due to some filming event going on there; but at least this morning they were still letting pedestrians walk in.
Also today, at Old Town State Park there’s a Black-and-white Warbler and a returning wintering Yellow Warbler (for 3-4 years) in the central plaza area, primarily in the one large fig tree.
An isolated mini-colony of 2 Acorn Woodpeckers continues at Mast Park in Santee.
In the past few days, I’ve had some 4-5 each of Western Tanagers and Black-thr. Gray Warblers at sites where they are almost certain to winter. As is normal.
