Riverwalk GC Lucy’s and American Redstart
The cottonwood trees along the San Diego River in Mission/Fashion Valley that Paul L. pointed out are hopping, given the lerpy-looking food source on the leaves. Given rich adjacent habitat it’s worth spending more timing looking even after seeing the stakeout. In the three trees near the Riverwalk Golf Course club house the LUCY’s WARBLER continues with one each Wilson’s and Yellow warblers. Nicole added a female-type AMERICAN REDSTART to this mix. Out along the east edge of the course (Fashion Valley Rd) we added another Yellow Warbler and a Western Tanager.
A new park (T+C Park) along the river between the Fashion Valley mall and the Town and Country Hotel looks to have future promise.
