Red-throated pipit, Tropical Kingbird
Thursday morning at 9:30 the red-throated pipit continues and is now at yet another new spot which is the cloddy dirt field on Saturn Ave., on the east side of the road directly across from the rows of compost, so south of Leon and just north of the river crossing by the hidden Pond. A total of 35 pipits here, plus just a few minutes earlier we had 18 pipits at the school ball fields behind Nestor Park, so that means there's up around 55 pipits in all working the whole area, at least.
At 7:45 we had a Tropical Kingbird near the main Dairy Mart pond, specifically tee'd up in tall dead Willow across the road on the east side of the road at that pond from the main pond . This may well be the same individual back for its third or fourth winter to this general area.
