I know this isn’t considered rare, and is nowhere near as exciting asall of the great birds being found right now, but thought it might be ofinterest to folks who live in the area, and it won’t show up in Alerts.There is a Red-breasted Sapsucker moving around quite a bit between OldPoway Park and Aubrey Park in Poway. Maybe a returning bird since therewas one there last fall/winter. I saw it on Sept 30th moving around thenorthwest corner of Old Poway Park around 2:30 in the afternoon, andtoday around noon on the north side of the playground at Aubrey Park.Flew into a tree on the north side of the eucs, and then into the eucsand I lost it. When I saw it last January it was in the same area whereI saw it today in Aubrey Park. Some of us saw it in October 2021 in OldPoway Park.Trees are currently being trimmed, but the birds were active in the onesnot being worked on today.FYI – If you go to that area, there are now two hot spots, one for eachpark.
