Re: Tricolored Heron at the San Diego river flood control channel
While viewing both the Buff-breasted Sandpiper and Tricolored Heron with Dan, on my way out of the park, I stopped by the North western entrance to the backside of the ball fields and saw the Reddish Egret as well. All this took place between 2:30 and 3:15 this afternoon down at Robb Field. The Buff-breasted seemed to hand out in the middle of the large grass area on the lawn side of the Tennis Courts, but was always flying off and when they brought the lights out for the socker gang, it made a long flight in the direction of Dusty Rhodes Park and never came back.
