Re: Stilt Sandpiper and phalaropes
I arrived this morning, hoping for some people with scopes but there was only one couple I didn't recognize. I believe they said the were from South Carolina. Anyhow, they got me on 5 Red-necked and 1 Wilson's Phalarope. After about 20 minutes, they found the Stilt Sandpiper in the eastern part of the same pond described by Paul. After a few minutes, it flushed with all the peeps and a couple of the other shorebirds and although I thought I saw where it landed, we did not re-find it. I believe it landed just a bit west from where we found it.
