For what it's worth, this is almost certainly an escapee. Due to the sedentary nature of this species, it seems rather unlikely to have drifted from the dwindling population near Huntington Civic Park in Los Angeles, or from the slightly larger (10-20 individuals?) population on Catalina Island.
