Re: Scripps Ranch Swainson's Thrush
Speaking of Swainson's Thrushes, I live along Escondido Creek, and I have Swainson's Thrushes in my yard annually in the spring, when they eat the berries on my carrotwood trees. I don't seem to detect them passing through in the fall. This spring I had a singing male as late as June 18, the latest I have had one, and later than the June 12 date given in the SD Bird Atlas (although I think other migrant reports have since superseded that date). I was curious about the potential for them to breed in the riparian area along Escondido Creek.
Best regards,
Jim
