I had a Red Phalarope very close to shore at Kellogg Beach at base of McCall, moving back and forth between McCall and Lawrence this morning. Small, alone mostly. There had been a “feeding frenzy” of pelicans and gulls and cormorants etc and I noticed one tiny bird – I don’t see it at the moment but the water is getting rougher and the tide is going out. Directly across from the Harbor Police at Shelter Island.
