Re: Possible Virginia's Warbler, 07 Sep
This was an interesting bird and we reached out to some experts to confirm an identification. We are still waiting for a couple of them to respond, but for the time being we have changed the ID to Nashville Warbler.
A special thanks to several people who went down to better photograph this bird. I have permission to share Nancy's and Eric's checklists.
Here is Nancy Christensen's:
Notice in Nancy's photos the bird's white throat and its gray head which blends smoothly into its back which is also gray. Nor is there any yellow along the flanks. Good for Virginia's Warbler. But there appears to have a tinge of green in its wing coverts, which Nashville Warblers have, but Virginia's shouldn't.
