Re: Possible Hybrid hummingbird

According to Handbook of Avian Hybrids of the World by Eugene M. McCarthy Costa’s has bred with Allen’s. This bird has an interesting mix of buff and green in some feathers and a Costa’s–like purple gorget—or at least the beginnings of one. If it’s singing like a Costa’s it might be a hybrid. My 2 cents.
