Update: as of 12:36pm, pectorals have moved into central “divot” of grass/reeds just to the right of where they were on the flats. There’s a small puddle in a clearing of grass here, where I initially spotted the first one earlier this morning. Clearing a roughly here: (32.7568705, -117.2395974). Observers can get ok vantages into this clearing from the south bank of the river, but hopefully the birds will come back out to the open later this afternoon.– Nick ThorpeUniversity Heights
