Possible Semipalmated Sandpiper at Mudflats
The sandpipers at the mudflats mid-morning were pretty close to shore (at least right up until someone let their dog run right out there to scare every bird off). I took several shots of the flock for further review and came up with this possibility. I've left a Western in the frame for comparison. Sadly no bill photo, but the right bird does have a slightly smaller stature and is lacking in red tones, despite appearing to have some breeding plumage left, possibly ruling out just a young bird. Hopefully someone with better knowledge of these guys can chime in.
