Pomarine Jaeger -Shelter Island – 28 Jan 2019
A six-hour search at Shelter Island earlier today for the wintering Red-necked Grebe was unsuccessful, but a real nice surprise was a Pomarine Jaeger (light-morph, sub-adult or possibly 'plain' adult) right at, right ON, the boat launch. Was there for several hours, apparently left around 11:00. A fly-by Little Blue Heron was also a bit surprising.
