Pine Warbler Margarita Ave
I just relocated the returning Pine Warbler at the intersection of Margarita and Sixth in Coronado. The bird did not call, was sticking to the tops of the trees, and was very slow moving. Patience is key to relocating this bird. During the time I watched it, it made an entire circle around the intersection. It did not seem to favor any tree, just the general area of the intersection. Keep in mind that when Elizabeth Copper refound the warbler on the CBC, it was 7-8 trees south of the intersection, so this bird gets around.
Remember to take precautions when birding here, since we are birding right in front of houses (don’t aim binoculars at houses, don’t block the sidewalks, be kind to residents asking questions, etc). The residents have been very open and eager to learn so far, so there have not been any issues yet.
