Philly Vireo update
By – 9:19 am
After being present in the lerpy eucalyptus tree at the very south edge of the parking lot south of the Organ Pavilion, see previous post, for a half hour until 7:40 a.m., the Philadelphia Vireo then disappeared for a solid hour, as is typical as birds come and go out of the lerpy trees, but then it reappeared just before 9:00 a.m., to the approval of several assembled birders. If looking from the parking lot into the tree to the south the bird has almost always preferred the left side of the tree. There is also a heavily lerped tree at the southwest corner of the parking lot which has plenty of yellow rumps but the vireo has yet to be seen over there. This bird is slightly less bright yellow than the one at the cemetery but has a slightly bolder single wing bar. While we waited for it to return, we also had a Plumbeous vireo and a Nashville Warbler.Paul Lehman, San Diego Sent from the all new AOL app for Android
