Painted Bunting and more at Community Gardens
Headed out to the Community Gardens off Holister St along with a ton of other birders this AM. We did see the male and female Painted Buntings (is the female type for sure a Painted?).
There was very little activity both in the way of birds and Butterflies compared to the same area yesterday afternoon. Maybe on humid overcast mornings the birds get a later start.
Also present was a Northern Cardinal, several Blue Grosbeaks, Song Sparrows, Red-Winged Blackbirds, Western Kingbirds, Lesser Goldfinch, Says Phoebes, Black Phoebes, House Finches, Allens and Anna's Hummingbirds.
There was a small group of 4 Helmeted Guineafowl on Hollister St just north of Sunset and south of Atherton.
