Northern Waterthrush at Mission Trails—Kumeyaay Lake and Green-tailed Towhee at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery
Today, September 11, 2018 I met Nancy Christensen at Kumeyaay Lake to look for the reported Northern Waterthrush. This is where I had Sora’s and a Virginia Tail last week. There is exposed mud at the east end. Two Sora’s and a juvenile Virginia Rail were also seen in addition to the Waterthrush. All birds quite cooperative for photos. But watch the mud.
I then headed over to FRNC where I had a Green-tailed Towhee in the extreme NW corner. I had one in the same location last year. Many Willow Flycatchers still present.
