New orchard oriole, continuing white-winged scoter and hybrid teal
Friday morning there is a new immature male Orchard oriole, this one in two hidden blooming bottlebrush along Monument Road in the TRV. The birds up at botanic garden in Encinitas would be a safer bet to look for. The female or immature, with a fully dark head, White-winged scoter continues in the Surf Scoter flock just to the north of the Imperial Beach Pier and the hybrid Eurasian X American Green-winged teal continues at the stick pond near Dairy Mart. Also continuing is the off and on Reddish egret at the J Street / Marina Parkway mudflats.
