new Hooded O., Summer T., Red-naped
On Sunday morning, there is yet another Hooded Oriole (young male) in town–the fourth seen in the past week (the other three are in various parts of Balboa Park)–and a Red-naped Sapsucker. Both in the "Middletown" neighborhood just west and northwest of Balboa Park. A slow several hours spent in Coronado turned up only a continuing adult male Bullock's Oriole and Black-thr. Gray Warbler. Yesterday, the 7th, there was a female Summer Tanager in Old Trolley Barn Park in North Park, and in riparian along the San Diego River between the SD Mission down to just below Mission Center Road there were 2 Yellow, 1 B-t Gray, and 1 Wilson's Warblers–all three species which are annual in winter along this stretch of river.
