New Blackburnan Warbler Sorrento Valley

10:46 am

Friday morning, while working on the Rancho Santa Fe CBC, I found a fairly dull Blackburnian Warbler in tipu trees along Vista Sorrento Parkway near the corner of Ocean Bluff Avenue. Specifically. It started out in the parking lot in front of the Homewood Suites Hotel and then moved out into the street where there are tipus in the median divide. Had to look from the sidewalk as it’s a busy street and you certainly don’t want to go walk out there. Additional tipus are next door at the Hilton Garden Hotel as well. Photos

Other tipu parking lots in the Sorrento Valley and Mira Mesa area have produced Black throated gray and two Nashville warblers. Yesterday had Western tanager in Cardiff and Yellow-headed blackbird still continues down in the TRV near the corner of Sunset and Hollister.
