Nashville Warbler; Carlsbad, 16DEC2018
I observed a NASHVILLE WARBLER this morning (16DEC 2018) in Carlsbad near the intersection of Faraday and Rutherford. It was foraging in Tipu trees on the north side of Faraday about 50 yards east of Rutherford (33.134599, -117.283442). It moved between the 3rd and 4th Tipu trees counting from intersection between 9 and 10 AM. This is the exact same location where the same species was observed in January 2018, so it is likely the same returning winter bird. While perhaps of marginal chase interest, this species is rare in winter and is a good bird for upcoming Oceanside/Carlsbad CBC. A couple of photos are in the following ebird checklist.
