Mystery Warbler – Doyle Community Park (Dec 8)

Mystery Warbler – Doyle Community Park (Dec 8)
By – 5:43 pm
This morning, I got a quick view and three crappy photos of a warbler in the pines along the south fence, south of the ball field. Anyone birding Doyle Community Park in the next couple of days, keep your eyes open for this bird. You will have to weed through countless Yellow-rumped Warblers.I categorized it as a “Warbler sp.” for now.eBird checklist here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S98625395Description: Yellow/brown wash throughout breast and head, contrast with white belly and undertail, two obvious wingbars. In pines south of ballfield, along south fence. First reaction was Bay-breasted, since it was in the same tree as the Bay-breasted earlier in the year. Cannot rule out Pine Warbler. Blackpoll would be very rare this time of year. Same pines along south fence south of ballfield where Bay-breasted W and Blue-headed V were earlier this year. I couldn’t refind it; went into Eucs on other side of fence. Tried Bay-breasted calls but no response.Oh, and there’s a Fox Sparrow there again today (reported by Bridget Spencer yesterday), in the far NE corner of the park, north of the big metal box container.David TrisselSan Diego, CA
