On Weds the 4th, the Yellow-billed Loon continued on Mission Bay, fairly early in the morning near the mouth of Quivira Basin, the Long-tailed Duck continued along the northwest side of Vacation Isle, and a male Eurasian Wigeon continued at Kendall-Frost Marsh. In residential Point Loma, the Townsend’s Solitaire continued at Silvergate X Jennings/Wilcox, a Summer Tanager continued at Silvergate X Charles, a “Slate-colored” Junco was at Silvergate X Dudley, and 2 separate White-throated Sparrows were along Silvergate and Dupont. In the Famosa Slough area, the Swamp Sparrow, Hooded Merganser, and Reddish Egrets continue; as does a Summer Tanager and Bullock’s Oriole at nearby Cleator Park/YMCA. A Yellow Warbler is at Old Town State Historic Park. And a new, adult male American Redstart is at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel bordering Montgomery Field (east side of building).
