I just started sea watching at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. Huge numbers of Pacific Loons are moving past well offshore. Estimated over 1000 on my first scan. And a young Snow Goose just landed with a gull flock right outside the surf.

I would imagine the birds would be much closer to shore at La Jolla.
