Long-Tailed Duck, Black Scoter and Eurasian Wigeon

This morning, Dec 27, Dan Jehl and I did a seawatch, with Stan, Richard and 2 other birders from out of state. We saw one Mew Gull, one Long-Tailed Duck and one Black Scoter (well, Dan saw the Scoter, I was talking and missed it).

Later at Kendall Frost on Mission Bay, while watching for the Nelson’s Sparrow, a drake Eurasian Wigeon swam along in the same general area we see the sparrow. Dan does not think it looks like the same drake as the one on the SD River. The sparrow put in a brief appearance.
