Local memberships/Annual passes

The subject of annual passes has come up several times in the past few days. Here is an overview:San Diego County Parks – has a free pass for Seniors. Day parking at all county parks.California State Parks – has a Senior pass. $20 for the calendar year, so it expires on Dec 31 no matter when you bought it. This pass gives you access during the off -seasons only. So in winter it is not valid on the desert. In summer it is not valid on the beaches and mountains.Adventure Pass – Federal lands pass – access to national forests. I think it is $35 per year. The Laguna General Store will sell you two, but the second one is $10. So bring a friend! If you are a Senior and have the Federal National Parks pass, you do not need the Adventure pass to park in the Lagunas. Lake Cuyamaca- this is private property and a day use pass is needed. In the bait shop you can purchase a non-angler annual pass. You still need to stop and checkin at the bait shop each time to get the day pass for your windshield.Burnt Rancheria and Laguna Campground I believe are also private property and you must purchase a day use permit. Your other passes are NOT valid there. The reservoirs in the county all charge access fees. As far as I know, none of the passes mentioned above gives you access. I feel It is important to support our local parks and public lands.
