Little Stints and higher water, geese, Palm Warbler, Yellow Warbler glut
On Tuesday afternoon the 11th, there were a healthy 6 Yellow Warblers in the Liberty Station area, plus a male Bullock's Oriole nearby. Then on Weds AM, the 12th, an additional 5 Yellow Warblers were in residential Imperial Beach and Nestor. The adult Little Stint was present for a short time on the now-reduced favorite island off the end of 10th just after dawn, "reduced" by last week's rains, so the birds have nowhere to forage along the edge of the island so have gone elsewhere for much of the time. And today, the 13th, a Palm Warbler continues in the ag fields along Calzada del Bosque in RSF, where also 2 Western Tanagers along North Lane; and the flock of 200+ Canada Geese at the Fairbanks Ranch horse pastures now has 6 Cackling Geese and 5 Gr. White-fronted Geese with them, but I did not see any white geese.
