Lake henshaw seabird show at 9:30 a.m.

9:39 am

I’ve arrived at lake henshaw in the San Diego mountains and done a couple scans and have had one wedge rumped type storm petrel, one black storm petrel, 37 least storm petrels, the sooty shearwater which does appear to look like a typical sooty as best I can tell and does not look like something more interesting, and one black tern.

Heat distortion is starting to become an issue but be aware that if you go north from the pull out with call box number 76-495, there is a turn style in the fence which is actually open and then you can walk all the way down to the shore of the lake and hopefully improve your lighting although you will lose the height advantage.
