Lake Cuyamaca and Santa Ysabel Preserve

10:45 am

A Friday morning check of Lake Cuyamaca produced a quite rare in winter in the mountains single White faced Ibis and 10 Great Egrets continuing in the shallow vegetated water near the north end, and the long-continuing Common Merganser near the dam.

We have been in Waterthrush Land at the Santa Ysabel Preserve East now for about 90 minutes and our waterthrush total so far as zero. Did have an immature dark-lored White crowned Sparrow in a moderate-sized flock of White crowns between the parking lot and the creek.
