Laguna Mts Bird Call ID help (and Clark's Nutcrackers)
I was hiking around the Big Laguna Lake today (and it IS nice and big after the rain!) when I heard a call that seemed very distinctive, but I haven't been able to figure it out. It was in a large pine on the bank, about halfway up, and the song had five distinct, clear notes. So, not a corvid. I looked up the calls of a bunch of the mountain birds I knew to be in the area and didn't find it. It may be that this one is incredibly obvious but I'm still kind of a noob when it comes to sounds.
Also saw three nice Clark's Nutcrackers, and one pair of Buffleheads out in the middle of the lake.
