Kentucky Warbler (private), and miscellanea

Kentucky Warbler (private), and miscellanea
By – 10:26 am
Tuesday morning I had a female Kentucky Warbler that unfortunately is at a very private off-limits spot that cannot withstand any volume, regular visitation, in South County coastal. I mention it here just to encourage folks that there are indeed rare landbirds out there, somewhere, in late May. The last couple days I’ve had a dozen to 15 western migrants each morning, with half of them this morning being Pacific-slope Flycatchers where they are known to be migrants and do not breed. Also a getting-late migrant Ash throated flycatcher at a site it would not breed. Otherwise it’s the species that are typical at this time of year such as pewees and Warblings and Swainson’s and Townsend’s and Wilson’s and tanagers. An off-and-on sporadic adult Reddish egret continues today on the J Street mudflats.Paul Lehman, San DiegoSent from the all new AOL app for Android
