Jacumba: lark bunting, swamp and white throated sparrows, 4 Harris’s, plumbeous

10:07 am

Saturday morning at Jacumb, in the area around the abandoned swimming pool and marshy area near the pond, there was a swamp sparrow and a white throated sparrow and continuing ‘plumbeous vireo and green tailed towhee. The lark bunting continues now for about 10 days in the abandoned ag field south of the main road along a little east-west dirt road, about 100 yards west of the west end of the runway, in with a small group of brewers and vesper sparrows. And a long staying group of four Harris’s Hawks continue fairly early in the morning on power poles and wires between downtown and the border fence. When I arrived at first light the temperature was in the upper 20s, but it warmed up nicely over the next few hours.
