Jacumba: Harris’s Hawks, Mountain Bluebird, W. Kingbird, misc.

12:19 pm

A Friday morning (20 Oct) check of Jacumba produced two continuing Harris’s Hawks, a female-type Mountain Bluebird (abandoned ag fields) that is one of the earlier arrival dates for the county, and a Western Kingbird that sets a new late date for the eastern half of the county. Also seen were Red-naped Sapsucker, Vermilion Flycatcher, 3 continuing Cassin’s Kingbirds, White-breasted and 6 Red-breasted Nuthatches, Ladder-backed Woodpecker (fringing desert veg), Red-shouldered Hawk, and a southbound migrant Osprey. Photos of many of these birds will appear later today in eBird.
